As Mental Health Reaches Crisis Point, Mexico Joins Global Dianetics Outreach
Volunteers spread across the nation as Mexican depression and anxiety rates double since the pandemic
MEXICO CITY, MX / ACCESS Newswire / March 31, 2026 / Mexico is facing a mental health emergency. Depression now affects 20% of the population and anxiety impacts 40% of Mexicans, according to figures cited by the Director General of CISNE Mexico. Both figures have doubled since the pandemic. To help combat this, volunteers from the Hubbard Dianetics Foundation spread out across Mexico in March, from Mexico City to Guadalajara, Puebla, Aguascalientes and Monterrey, aiming to provide resources to help Mexicans gain control of their mental well-being.

Mental health is a rising concern in Mexican communities where economic uncertainty, migration pressures and stress are real and felt daily. With their recognizable red gear, the volunteers offered free stress tests and the book Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health. The volunteers reminded thousands that improving mental health begins with understanding what is happening within the mind. Dianetics has helped millions identify the root cause of anxiety, fears and negative emotions.
One passerby obtained the book and immediately received a free introductory demonstration. "I feel very good right now," he explained, "I remembered several important events in my life, things that happened a long time ago and that I had forgotten.I realized that I still have a lot of awareness, and that is very important to me."
Currently in its 75th year, Dianetics continues to help readers understand the human mind, offering an accessible path to emotional well‑being. The word Dianetics comes from the Greek dia (through) and nous (mind or soul) and is defined as what the mind is doing to the body.
The outreach across Mexico was part of a global effort spanning 50 countries and more than 250 cities. The activities extended from Dianetics Centers throughout Latin America, reaching communities in Costa Rica, Guatemala, Panama, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, Brazil, Chile and Argentina.
The Hubbard Dianetics Foundation holds Dianetics Seminars weekly in its centers throughout Mexico. With one in five Mexicans suffering from depression, Mexico's mental health emergency is real and so is the resource brought by this outreach. Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health has sold over 22 million copies and is the all-time bestselling book on the human mind. For more information visit www.dianetics.org.
